Celebrating Ontario’s Farmers and Agri-Food Workers During Agriculture Week

This Agriculture Week, we’re celebrating the farmers, food processors, agri-food businesses and workers who put Ontario food on our tables and help drive our economy.

Ontario’s agri-food sector is an economic powerhouse, contributing close to $53 billion to our province’s GDP and supporting more than 850,000 jobs, or one in nine jobs across Ontario.

With nearly 50,000 farms producing more than 200 different commodities, Ontario is home to one of the largest and most diverse agriculture sectors in Canada. Since 2018, our agri-food sector has grown by more than $4 billion, creating jobs and strengthening communities across the province.

Doug Ford and our Ontario PC team are working to keep that momentum going.

We’ve invested $60 million to help reduce input costs for farmers, while continuing to cut costs, attract investment and create the conditions Ontario’s farmers, businesses and workers need to succeed.

And as tariffs and global uncertainty threaten workers and our economy, we’re working to make Ontario more secure, sovereign and self-reliant by growing and making more of the food we need right here at home.

During Agriculture Week, we’re proud to celebrate everyone who brings Ontario food from farm to table.

We’ll keep standing up for Ontario farmers, protecting agri-food workers and building a stronger, more resilient food supply for generations to come.
